Common Objections
TAMI's UK Data is Stronger
Ingrid and others have reported that TAMI's UK Database is far superior to Cognism's. This is interesting, as Cognism position themselves as the Zoominfo across the pond.
TAMI's Mobile Coverage is Stronger
Outside of Cognism's Diamond Data, their mobile numbers are weak, with only a 50% connect rate. TAMI clients have recently reported that 90% of our mobile numbers connect.
TAMI's Firmo/Technographics are Market-Leading
Cognism's merchant sizing, technology filters and service insights are inaccurate, which can waste time and credits on export. Additionally, poor segmentation leads to messy lists for marketers that require a lot of manual work to fix.
TAMI Doesn't Inflate Counts
Cognism's contact count can be higher than TAMI's, but it is filled with out-of-date data that is of little use to sales teams. Cognism also doesn't refresh their data as frequently, and high volumes of dead data are a GDPR concern for customers.
TAMI's Customer Service is First Class
Cognism's customer service is notoriously awful. Plagued with sneaky autorenewals, dead customer service numbers and inboxes and long reply times. Take a look at their trust pilot! https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.cognism.com?stars=1
TAMI Offers Advanced Hubspot and Salesforce Dedupe's
Cognism is filled with duplicates which cause issues for sales and marketing. They do not offer advanced deduplication, which makes cleaning lists time-consuming and manual.
TAMI Allows you to Export 1000 Companies
Cognism only allows 25 companies to be exported at a time. TAMI allows you to export 1000 which is great for marketing and building prospect lists for sales.
TAMI's AI is Actually AI
Cognism's "ground breaking" AI search is a gimmick and provides poor search results. According to a former employee, it is the subject of many complaints.
TAMI's Industry Classifications are Accurate
Cognism's Industry classifications cause issues when segmenting and targeting certain verticals, as many companies are mislabeled. This is because Cognism do not verify the industry, they just scrape LinkedIn. TAMI cross references industries against other data points such as site meta data and more.

Integrations

TAMI offers direct integrations with most major CRMs and some MarTech solutions.

Cognism also offers direct integrations, but for notably fewer providers.

Additionally, TAMI has a 2 way integration with both Salesforce and Hubspot. Cognism does have 2 way integration with Salesforce, but not for Hubspot.

Here's a full list of Cognism's integrations:

Salesforce, Hubspot, Outreach, Microsoft Dynamics, Pipedrive, Salesloft, Zapier, Bullhorn

To summerise, Cognism is great if you want to integrate directly with a sales tool like Outreach, but offers limited integration with CRM platforms.

Cognism and GDPR...

Kaspr was acquired by Cognism, and the two providers merged their databases, strengthening Cognism's French data. However, Kaspr have recently been fined for breaching GDPR on the following counts: Storing data for more than 5 years without a refresh, scraping data from personal profiles on LinkedIn and more. Click here to see the full article.

A look at Cognism's Trustpilot also shows issues with GDPR. 25% of reviews claim that Cognism do not remove people's personal data from their data lake when asked and the numbers/inboxes that monitor this are out of service. The right to withdraw is a central pillar of all data protection regulation.

Cognism's "Technologies"

This video shows Cognism's attempt to include information on Apple's tech stack. As you can see, Cognism claim Apple are using every version of Microsoft, even unsupported versions of Windows which is obviously inaccurate.

With Cognism, you can't be sure a product can integrate with a companies current tech stack, and you can't target your competitor's customers.
