Account based marketing lead generation data needs depth, not a longer list

Most account based marketing data gets the target list right and the account depth wrong. You have the hundred companies. What you do not have is the group of people inside each one who decide together.

TAMI maps the buying committee inside your named accounts: who sits in which function, at what seniority, with verified emails and direct dials. You also get what each company runs, so the message can reference something real.

36m UK contacts across 1.6m UK companies. Coverage visible per account.

No card needed. Upload ten target accounts and see how deep our coverage runs.

One contact per account is not account coverage.

B2B purchases of any size are decided by a group rather than a person, spanning the function that will use the product, the one that will integrate it, and the one that signs. Reaching one of them is a conversation, not a campaign.

What is account based marketing?

Account based marketing is treating individual companies as markets in their own right. Instead of generating leads and sorting them afterwards, you select the accounts worth winning first, then coordinate marketing and sales around each one until they buy or you disqualify them.

The data requirement is where most programmes struggle. Lead generation data is measured on volume. Account based marketing lead generation data is measured on depth: how completely you can map the people inside one company, across every function involved. A hundred accounts with one contact each is a list. A hundred with the committee mapped is a programme.

Why ABM programmes stall after the account list

Three failures, and none of them are about choosing the wrong accounts.

One contact per account

Coverage stops at the person who was easiest to find, usually whoever completed a form. The other decision-makers are never identified, so the account never really enters the programme.

Wrong functions mapped

Marketing reaches marketing, and nobody reaches the finance or technical stakeholders who can stop the deal. Depth without breadth across functions produces the same blind spot.

Nothing to personalise with

Account based messaging that only knows a company's name and sector reads like segment marketing with a logo dropped in.

Map the committee, not the contact. TAMI shows how many decision-makers it holds inside each named account, across which functions, before you commit to the programme.

```
BUILT FOR ACCOUNT DEPTH
THE ACCOUNT IS NOT THE UNIT. THE COMMITTEE IS
You are not selling to a company. You are selling to a group of people who have to agree.
TAMI returns every decision-maker it holds inside a target account, mapped by function and seniority, so a campaign can reach the whole group rather than whoever answered first.
That changes what an account plan can look like. Different messages for the team that will use the product and the team that has to integrate it, sequenced because you know who each of them is.
Who sits on the committee in your market?
Six verticals our customers run ABM programmes in, and the functions that decide.
Our European patent for merchant detection means account records carry the payment, checkout and fulfilment detail that makes account-level personalisation specific rather than generic.
Three questions to ask before an ABM programme starts
One
How many decision-makers do we hold inside each target account, right now?
Two
Which functions are missing, and which of those can block a deal?
Three
What do we know about each account that we could not have said about any account?
Not a target list. A mapped account.
Every answer comes back as coverage depth per account, function and seniority mapping, and verified contacts you can work.
What TAMI adds to a target account
The account list is the easy part. This is what makes it workable.
Committee mapping
Every decision-maker held inside the account, by function and seniority.
Verified contact detail
Emails checked at inbox level and direct dials, not switchboard numbers.
Coverage visibility
How many contacts sit in each account, visible before you export.
Technology and payments context
What the account runs, processes payments through and ships with.
Firmographic detail
Size band, revenue band, region and verified trading status.
Change alerts
Job moves and departures flagged, so account plans survive reorganisations.
Combine any of them.
Combine committee depth with stack context and the message can reference something the account would recognise about itself.
TAMI AI
WE ARE THE DATA UNDER THE PROGRAMME, NOT THE PLATFORM
TAMI does not run advertising, orchestrate journeys or execute campaigns. ABM platforms do that well and we work alongside them. What we supply is the layer they depend on: the accounts, the committee inside each one, verified contact detail and the operational context that makes account-level messaging specific. Fields are also available through our data enrichment API.
CRM CONTACT ALERTS
What comes back on a mapped account
We don't hand you a company name and a domain. Six things arrive per account.
  • The committee Named decision-makers across every function we hold inside that business.
  • Seniority mapping Who sits where, so sequencing can reflect who influences whom.
  • Verified contact routes Inbox-checked emails and direct dials for each person on the list.
  • The account's stack Platform, payment providers, carriers and tools, for personalisation that lands.
  • Gaps made visible Which functions we cannot cover, stated rather than hidden.
  • CRM delivery Synced and deduplicated against records you already hold.
Is ABM contact data GDPR compliant?
It can be, with documented sourcing. Named contacts are personal data under UK GDPR, so you need a lawful basis, source transparency and working suppression. PECR's email rule excludes corporate subscribers, though sole traders and some partnerships count as individuals. TAMI sources directly, so provenance stays traceable.
How to run account based marketing properly, in six steps
1
Select fewer accounts than feels comfortable
Depth costs effort. A programme spread across three hundred accounts becomes segment marketing with account language on top.
2
Map the committee before the campaign
Identify every function involved in the decision, then check how many of those people you can actually reach. TAMI shows that depth per account before you commit.
3
Name the gaps
An account where you hold three of six functions is a partially covered account. Knowing which side is missing decides where the effort goes.
4
Personalise on something observable
The account's platform, processor or fulfilment arrangement gives you something specific to reference, which is what separates ABM from segment marketing.
5
Sequence across the committee
Different functions need different messages in a sensible order. That is only possible when you know who occupies each one.
6
Watch for movement
Reorganisations and departures break account plans quietly. Change alerts mean a mapped account stays mapped.
ABM is measured on account penetration, not on account count. A hundred accounts with one contact each is a list with a strategy written on top of it.
BETTER DECISIONS
WHAT TEAMS DO WITH IT
TAMI FOR MARKETING
  • Build audiences that cover the whole committee
  • Personalise on what the account actually
  • Size coverage before committing programme budget
  • Suppress accounts already in late-stage pipeline
  • Refresh account data as people move
TAMI FOR SALES
  • Reach every stakeholder, not just the champion
  • See who influences whom inside an account
  • Open with something specific to that business
  • Get alerted when a contact leaves
  • Work accounts with the committee already mapped
Account coverage decides whether ABM works. Check yours before the programme starts.
BEYOND THE FIRST LIST
WHEN THE ACCOUNT LIST RUNS OUT
ABM programmes eventually exhaust their target list, and the next hundred accounts have to come from somewhere.
  • TAMI matches your best accounts against the wider market and returns companies that resemble them, with the committee already mapped.
  • Stripe, United States Postal Service, Trustpilot and DHL use TAMI to reach the right people inside the right companies.
Frequently asked
questions
1How do you measure ABM success?
Account penetration, pipeline per account and progression through named stages, measured over quarters rather than weeks. Lead volume and cost per lead are the wrong metrics, since ABM deliberately reduces both.
2Who should own an ABM programme, sales or marketing?
Jointly, with one named owner for the account list. Programmes fail when marketing selects accounts and sales works a different set, so the shared list matters more than which team holds the budget.
3How long before ABM shows results?
Two to four quarters for meaningful pipeline, longer for closed revenue. ABM targets accounts on their timeline rather than yours, so early reporting should track penetration and engagement instead of deals.
4What is the difference between one-to-one, one-to-few and one-to-many ABM?
One-to-one means bespoke work on individual accounts, usually tens of them. One-to-few clusters similar accounts into small groups. One-to-many applies account logic at scale, which needs the most data and the least manual effort.
5How do you build a target account list from account based marketing lead generation data?
Start from the accounts that already convert well, identify what they share, then apply that pattern across the market. Selection by revenue potential alone produces lists nobody can realistically penetrate.
6Do you need intent data for ABM?
It helps with timing but does not replace coverage. Knowing an account is active is useless if you hold one contact inside it. Fix depth first, then add timing signals.
7How much should an ABM programme cost per account?
Work backwards from contract value. If a target account is worth six figures, meaningful investment is justified. If it is worth four, the effort belongs in one-to-many rather than bespoke work.
8What is account penetration and how do you calculate it?
The proportion of the buying committee you have engaged inside an account, not just contacted. Divide engaged decision-makers by the total you have identified, and track it per account rather than as an average.
9Should ABM target accounts already in the pipeline?
Usually not with acquisition messaging. Live opportunities need sales support rather than awareness campaigns, so suppress them from acquisition audiences and run expansion or multithreading programmes instead.
10How do you get sales to work ABM accounts they did not choose?
Involve them in selection and show the coverage. Reps commit to accounts where they can see named contacts across functions, and resist lists that arrive as a company name and an instruction.
11Can ABM work with a small marketing team?
Yes, at one-to-few rather than one-to-one. The constraint is bespoke content, not data. Small teams succeed by choosing fewer accounts and reusing account intelligence across similar groups.
12What content do ABM programmes actually need?
Less than most teams assume. A strong account-specific opening line and a few adaptable assets usually outperform bespoke microsites, provided the operational detail referenced is accurate.
13How do you keep account based marketing lead generation data current?
Review quarterly and monitor contacts continuously. Accounts change shape through reorganisations and acquisitions, and a committee mapped a year ago is rarely still the committee.
